About artist

Burning Rope is a brand-new blues-rock band from the UK, formed by the remaining members of the multi–award-winning band Catfish, together with exceptional guitarist Alex Voysey. The project was born after the heartbreaking loss of 29-year-old frontman Matt Long in October 2024.

Emerging from deep personal tragedy, Burning Rope represents resilience, continuity, and the desire to keep creating music together. Their sound carries the emotional depth of their journey, blending blues-rock power with authenticity and heart.

Background

Burning Rope rose from the ashes of Catfish, one of the UK’s most respected blues-rock acts. After Matt Long’s passing, the remaining members decided to honor their history and musical bond by moving forward under a new name, while still preserving the essence of what made their music resonate with so many.

Music & Style

At their shows, Burning Rope offers a mix of:

  • Selected songs from Catfish
  • Pieces from Paul’s earlier musical projects
  • Brand-new material written over the past year
  • A few special and unusual covers

The band’s performances blend emotion, musicianship, and a strong sense of connection with their audience.
